Mary, Jack and Rob recently attended focus11, a leading financial services industry conference hosted by LPL Financial.
Held in Chicago, August 7-10, focus11 remains the industry's premier sales and education event. Approximately 5,000 attendees from around the country assembled for the opportunity to learn new strategies and skills, expand knowledge in numerous product areas and network with peers and industry experts.
The speakers included Condoleezza Rice, 66th United States Secretary of State; Michael Eisner, former CEO of The Walt Disney Company; and Sir Ken Robinson, author of Out of Our Minds.
Additionally, through the hundreds of business sessions, LPL Financial advisors gained valuable knowledge to help them continually improve the service they offer to clients and operate their independent practices more efficiently.
Bill Dwyer, president of National Sales and Marketing for LPL Financial, noted that the conference's theme, A Focus on the Future, speaks to the current economic outlook and its opportunities and challenges for advisors and their clients: "Our enduring mission at LPL Financial is to support our independent advisors as they help their clients reach their life goals. We believe our ability to enable the delivery of objective and conflict-free advice through trusted local advisors is critical in this ongoing effort."
Unlike many brokerage firms, LPL Financial does not develop its own proprietary investment products, so the unbiased advice given by its advisors is based solely on individual client needs.

2011 Miracle League Night at the Park
Let's play ball! On June 18th, NothelferMorrone hosted a night at the ballpark in support of the The Miracle League of the Lehigh Valley. Hundreds of our clients, family and friends gathered to enjoy hot dogs and hamburgers under the pavilion before the game. Later, we all cheered on the baseball players while the Nationals played the Cubs. Jack's sons, Anthony and Dominic, play on the Nationals, one of 14 Lehigh Valley Miracle League teams.
The Miracle League of the Lehigh Valley was founded in 2006, dedicated to providing children with special needs and other developmental disabilities an opportunity to play baseball. The Schnecksville, PA field is a state of the art baseball complex with a cushioned synthetic turf to prevent injuries and easy mobility around the bases without obstruction. Everything in the park is wheelchair accessible.
The Miracle League has been an important part of our community. For more information about the League you can go to www.miracleleaguelv.org.

2011 Caring and Connecting Event
Our First Annual Caring and Connecting Event was hosted at the NothelferMorrone office on Tuesday, May 17. The concept for the event arose from the passion of NothelferMorrone owner, Mary Nothelfer, to help others.
"We have a group of women who get together socially regularly", said Mary. "They enjoy an evening out with other women where we have lots to talk about while having a bite to eat. Thinking about the caring spirit that resides in each of them, I came up with the idea to expand and gather the group in a way that allowed them to collectively give back. I made the choice to try to connect some of the women I admire, with a cause I knew they would embrace."
More than 30 women attended the event, which benefited Turning Point of the Lehigh Valley. Turning Point of Lehigh Valley is a safe place where victims of abuse and their children can find refuge. They provide services in Lehigh and Northampton Counties to more than 5,000 victims of domestic violence each year. Their mission is to work toward the elimination of domestic violence; increase community awareness of the problem; and empower victims of domestic violence by providing shelter and support services.
To learn more about how you can make a difference, please visit the Turning Point website at www.turningpointlv.org.
